Born and raised in Watford, Jonathan went to Watford Grammar School for Boys. He learnt to play the piano and saxophone, although he always preferred improvising his own music than imitating someone else's. Studying Film and English, he became interested in other art forms and the crossover between them and music. He left school with three A*s at A-Level and a grade 8 distinction in saxophone but he was determined to pursue a career in composing. When he  started studying at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he'd often be watching the drama students rehearse after going to his own lessons. His fascination with non-musical art is what brings him inspiration when it comes to creating music.

Jonathan is someone who constantly loves to try something new. Having a great love for orchestral music, you can often find him in a classical concert hall. On the hand, you may find him in clubs around London, enjoying electronic dance music or contemporary jazz. Furthermore, he has a great passion for theatre, from watching West End musicals, to classical plays, to hip-hop dance. This feeds into the style of music he composes, often cross-disciplinary and "beyond genre".
